Tourism Northern Ontario Supports Travel Information Centre Signage

Recognizing the importance of our Northern Ontario Travel Information Centres (TICs) in providing valuable wayfinding and information services, Tourism Northern Ontario is working to have Canadian Tourism-Oriented Directional Signage (CTODS) signs installed to direct more visitors to our TICs.  This service would be provided free of charge for a three-year period to the Northern Ontario TICs that qualify, funding permitting.

Tourism Northern Ontario Executive Director, David MacLachlan added that offering such supports as signage, customer service training, increased funding for staffing and a resource toolkit and online hub have been very well received.

“Our various programs have been received with widespread enthusiasm.  When we get feedback that we’re making it easier for our tourism partners to do their jobs well, we know we’re doing something right”, he said.
