TNO Board of Directors and Management Staff meet in Sault Ste. Marie
Halfway through the calendar year, the Tourism Northern Ontario Board of Directors travelled to Sault Ste. Marie to meet with each other and senior staff. Among regular business, the Board discussed new marketing planning and provincial alignment, Tourism Excellence North progress, a new corporate communications strategy and updates on partnership initiatives. The Board also heard from key government advisors including FedNor, the Ministry of Tourism Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. The Executive Director and President both gave briefings of their spring activities.
There was an overarching theme of positive momentum throughout the meeting. As the new Strategic Implementation Plan starts to take shape at the Board of Directors level, staff have been quick to align their activities to ensure benchmarks are met and key activities are taking place. This includes new roles and responsibilities for senior staff in order to function within priority pillar areas.
The meeting proved to be very productive with good information sharing between staff, board and advisors. Key action items will be distributed among staff to ensure proper alignment with TNO strategies and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
