Lock Tours and Charters Have Returned to Sault Ste. Marie

For the first time in over ten years, people will be able to depart from the Canadian side of the St. Mary’s River at Roberta Bodnar Park in Sault Ste. Marie for a lock tour.

There are scheduled daily tours through the locks and along the waterfront, as well as opportunities for private charters for corporate events and meetings, birthdays, weddings, stag and does, special events or just-for-fun with your friends!

This is an exciting and historic tour that takes you along the same scenic route that Etienne Brulé and his friends did in 1622!  The Miss Marie provides an open-air experience while having a covered upper and lower deck with removeable side windows.  The bow area is wide open for that great Instagram shot and selfies.  The Miss Marie can accommodate 100 guests, has a mind-numbing sound system, an area for a band, offers full catering services, and a wet bar that also features local micro-brewery beverages.

Jeff DiCorpo and Sheila Purvis bought the vessel in Toronto, transported it to Sault Ste. Marie then spent over two months installing new marine technology, upgrades and enhancements.  They are local entrepreneurs with investments in the community and have extensive business experience, including in the hospitality and marine industry.

This newest tourism attraction is exciting for the municipality as well as Northern Ontario.  The operating season is from May to mid-October and ticket prices are $44/adults, $31/seniors, $12/children 5-12 years and free for children 4 and under.  Visit SaultLockTours.ca for charter rates and more information.
